Quebec Action Fund for Sustainability (Fonds d’action québécois pour le développement durable)
The FAQDD (French acronym) is a non-profit organism having as mission to financially arouse and support formative and innovative projects that achieve to change individual and collective behavior, for a sustainable society.
The $250,000 granted by the Quebec Ministry of Sustainability, Environment, and Parks come from the $6,480,000 amount of the FAQDD to raise public awareness about climate changes: Action-climat. This envelop, part of the Green Fund, aim to reduce the Greenhouse Gases (GHG) by involving the community for concrete change. The Action-climat program is linked to the 2006-2012 Action Plan for Fight Against Climate Changes of the Quebec’s government.
By means of its financial contribution, Cascades, a leader in the manufacturing, converting and marketing of packaging products and tissue paper composed mainly of recycled fibres, wishes to ensure the coordination of the various projects undertaken by The Generations Pact, and act as an agent of change for the development of student initiatives within the community.
