THE CONCEPT - Other Financing
History > Mission and Coordination > Student Sustainability Fund > Other FinancingAction-climat program
At Concordia University in March 2007, alongside Al Gore and David Suzuki, the minister of Sustainable Development, Environment, and Parks, Mr. Claude Béchard, showed interest in providing matching funding for each dollar invested by students.
In April 2008, the Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks Minister of Québec, Mrs. Line Beauchamp, announced a grant of 250 000 $ for the year 2008-2009 to student sustainability funds, for projects reducing Greenhouse Gases (GHG).
The management of this fund, coming from the Action-Climate program, was allotted to the Fonds d’action québécois pour le développement durable (FAQDD). The FAQDD, a non-profit organization, with 8 years of experience assisting and following up on sustainability projects, became an important partner of the Generations Pact.
